K. Rhodel Ferriss

Rhodel grew up in Ashern in the heart of Manitoba’s Interlake. After attending the University of Manitoba for 6 years, Rhodel wanted to return to rural Manitoba. In 1998, Rhodel and her husband Jason relocated from Winnipeg to the Swan River Valley.

Rhodel articled at the same firm (at the time Burnside and Company) and was called to the bar in 1999. Rhodel and Gary Burnside formed a partnership (Burnside and Ferriss) in 2005 which ended in 2015 upon the retirement of Gary Burnside.

Rhodel has experience in almost all areas of the law. Rhodel has for over 24 years assisted clients with their real estate, estate planning, and estate administration needs. Her practice focused on family law and civil ligation and included child protection work for several child welfare agencies. Since the retirement of Gary Burnside, Rhodel’s practice has shifted to corporate and commercial transactions but also includes real estate, estate planning, and estate administration.

Rhodel is a strong believer in community volunteer work and the benefits of a rural lifestyle. Rhodel is currently a board member of the Community Foundation of Swan Valley.
